Of course, ADO also had a few thoughts in advance – and put them into practice:
It's no coincidence that each of our curtain, drapery or upholstery fabrics comes with a 5-Year ADO Warranty.
Oops! A stain is faster on the couch than we would like. The key here is to react quickly and correctly! Then, in many cases, you can do without replacing the upholstery fabric.
Here are valuable first aid tips for stains on upholstered furniture.
No, it is best to react immediately. The older a stain is, the more difficult it is to clean and the risk of permanent residues increases.
Carefully pick up the stain/residue with an absorbent cloth or spoon. Be careful not to rub the stain deeper into the fabric.
Dried, stuck or encrusted stains should be soaked with water first. Do not pluck, that could damage the fabric!
Many everyday stains contain protein or grease. Therefore, they are particularly easy to remove with a mild base of water and mild detergent. For light-colored covers, the addition of stain removal salt can help. So you already have everything you need at home to clean your covers.
Even if it feels wrong at first: A stain should always be cleaned over a wide area and with plenty of water. This is the only way to wash out all dirt and foam particles.
Distilled water is ideal for cleaning. Especially in areas with highly calcareous water, permanent lime stains may occur after drying.
Spills from foods such as ketchup, mustard, red wine, beer, condensed milk or chocolate happen faster than we would like. Fortunately, they can be removed quite easily:
– Use a lye of warm water and mild detergent.
– Wash fresh stains generously. Refrain from picking at the fabric, as this could damage the pile.
– You should first soak and then wash out stains that have already dried.
Stains from lipstick, nail polish, ballpoint pen, felt-tip pen and shoe polish need special treatment.
– Use acetone as a solvent.
– First outline the stain with acetone. This prevents the dissolved soiling from flowing further.
– Then drizzle the stain directly with acetone and soak up the moisture with a white absorbent cloth or kitchen paper towel.
– Repeat the process as necessary until no discoloration is visible.
Jeans and other textiles quickly leave colored or darker spots on furniture fabrics. It's good if you know how to help yourself:
– Prepare a solution of 1 part chlorine and 10 parts water.
– Wet the soiled area with the solution.
– After about 15 to 20 minutes, the foreign dye should be destroyed and you can pick up the dissolved dye particles with a dry cloth.
– Good to know: These discolorations are not comparable to normal soiling and can be very stubborn.
After each wash, pat the treated area dry with a clean cloth and allow to dry completely at normal temperature. Do not use your furniture until the fabric is completely dry.
ADO cover fabrics are particularly easy to wash. They do not mind a second cleaning cycle. But wait until the fabric is completely dry beforehand.
An integrated stain protection ensures that your fabric is much less sensitive to soiling. Nevertheless, staining can occur under heavy use or in contact with certain materials.
Follow the same steps as for normal upholstery fabrics. However, note the following in addition:
– Reactivate the protection after complete drying by careful over-ironing. The iron must be completely dry and not emit steam. Try out how the fabric reacts to the iron on an inconspicuous area beforehand.
– Even if you want to speed up the drying process: Never blow dry this type of upholstery fabric! The risk is too high that the fibers contract or deform permanently.

CAUTION
– Heat sources such as hot water bottles, grain pillows, electric blankets or hot drinks should not come into contact with the fabric
– Do not use irons or steam cleaners
– Hi-cover fabric may only be dried in the dryer with reduced thermal load
– Lace objects such as keys or velcro fasteners can damage the fabric surface
